CHAPTER 39

TWO HOURS LATER...

I snuggled my body further into the warm furry cashmere blanket I'd bought, enjoying the soft feel of the material gently smoothing against my skin, as my lips curled into a sexually satisfied smile over the naughty encounter I'd had with the boys.

I opened my eyes slowly to greet in what I thought was the morning, and almost went into cardiac arrest when realizing that not only was it not morning, but that what I thought was the cashmere blanket I was cozied up in, was in actual fact the fur of Callen in his shifted wolf form lying beside me!

I lay frozen for a good few seconds, as the slow realization of being trapped inside a steel cage with not just one, but three larger-than-life predatory wolves, rocked my nerves raw! I could feel my heart drumming inside my chest with horrified fear, as I lay palpitating in sweat-drenched panic over how to make my escape.

The sickening horror of being mauled to death by the man I loved was not at all an option I ever wanted to consider! And so with every courage I could muster, I slowly but carefully unwound my body from its comforted position, gulping my heart into my mouth as I gradually raised myself to my feet and observed my immediate surroundings...this is bad Silver, this is really fucking bad! I thought, trembling an army of goosebumps shivering my naked body, as I stood staring down at the three larger than life sized wolves lying beside me.

It was obvious we'd all over-exhausted ourselves after our little naughty sex romp, carelessly ignoring consideration for safety in our lust-hungry desires, thus allowing the last day of the full moon cycle to catch us all unaware...

With every caution inside me strongly advising not to tempt fate further, I as quietly as I could began manoeuvering my way across the cashmere blanket, shifting my tippy toes carefully over the material's fibre, so as not to mistakenly tread on wolf fur and alert them to an early dinner.

I had just reached the cage door, literally only seconds away from safety, when I heard what sounded like a soft whimpered cry coming from behind me...

I froze!

Taking a second or two to realize my body was still intact, I without hesitation reached my hand quickly to open the caged door...that's when the same soft whimpered cry whined out again behind me. This time I turned my head slowly and was met with the sad lonely yellow eyes of the furry gray wolf I'd been lying next to, watching in my paralyzed frozen state as it rose to all fours with its head hung low like a puppy who knew he was in trouble, before slowly making his way over to me and whimpering sadly again.

The cool steel tingled my skin as my body backed itself up in fear, hands shaking like never before as I reached out behind me and opened the caged door. As soon as my
